CREST VIEW ESTATES HOMEOWNER’S ASSOCIATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ MEETING
August 4, 2016 7:00 PM
Board Members present: President Roger Branch, Vice President Elizabeth Aguilar, and Treasurer Bob McLaughlin, Secretary Shawna Fletcher. Architectural Committee Members present: Danny Larson, Annette Pelton and Stephanie Kelly
Meeting called to order by President, Roger Branch at 7:15pm.
VP, Elizabeth Aguilar brought to attention a recent break-in in the neighborhood. Nothing was stolen, but it is a good reminder for all to be on the lookout.
President Roger Branch welcomed everyone to the meeting, thanked everyone for coming.
Treasurer’s report by Bob McLaughlin - A deposit of $750.00 was made after the HOA Annual Meeting.
Two community members, Steve Schafhausen and Kathy McLaughlin joined the meeting to voice concern to the Board about the increase in commercial vehicles and equipment being stored on various residents’ properties. Enforcement of the HOA covenants was discussed.
Roger brought up that last year’s goal for the Board was to update and clarify the HOA bylaws. This year’s focus is on the clarification and development of enforcement process of the covenants. (UPDATE: Communication with HOA attorney is in progress regarding initial enforcement procedure for this issue)
It was proposed that the HOA follow the CCIOA guidelines starting with a mailing of covenants to all residents to reiterate their scope and that the HOA is in the process of clarifying the methods of enforcement.
Different ways to be sure homeowners are aware of covenant and enforcement, and it was decided a formal ‘Welcome Committee’ will be created to be sure new residents are welcomed to the community, as well as being sure every resident has a hard copy of the covenants. Initial members of this committee are Elizabeth Aguilar, Stephanie Kelly, and Shawna Fletcher.
Annual Party
There was further discussion of the HOA annual party. The Greenfield’s will be contacted to determine whether they wish to host the party again. If not, another location will have to be chosen. (UPDATE: Greenfields have expressed a willingness to host again, and communication regarding preparations have begun).
Law Enforcement Support
In light of the tremendous efforts by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, inviting officers to our annual party and partnering with them for their annual toy drive were discussed. It was decided we will further discuss options, and implement an appreciation effort on behalf of Crest View Estates.
Signage
Everyone agreed upon the proposed “No Public Access” signs. Roger will place the order for two signs for each cul-de-sac and each side of the wash on Crest View. (UPDATE: 14 total signs have been ordered – 13 “No Public Access” signs and a single “Covenant Controlled Community” sign)
Next HOA Board Meeting
The next Board of Directors meeting is set for Tuesday, September 13, at 7:00 pm. The Board members were asked to review the Covenants and Architectural Rules, which will be further discussed at the next meeting.
Roger will be sure to put the new Tallman platte map on the HOA website, and the cul-de-sac fencing project will be moving forward.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm
