Thanks to the volunteer efforts of a few community members, our sign at the entrance of the Crest View subdivision has finally been landscaped!
Architectural Control Committee member Danny Larson, HOA Prez Roger Branch and the industrious and helpful Jeannie Branch got the supplies and tools together and met at the sign on Saturday morning, June 25th to help finish it off after all these years.
The before photo of the sign is below. While the grass around the sign was never a bad thing, it did require constant maintenance (THANK YOU to the Proroks for years of mowing around the sign!) and was starting to become more challenging with the recent addition of solar lighting.

The first stage of the work was getting the boundary timbers measured, somewhat leveled, and in place.

The next stage was applying the weed barrier and securing it under the timbers.

Drilling holes in the 6" x 6" x 8' timbers was a tough job, but Danny was up to the task!

3/8" x 2' rebar was then pounded into the holes to secure the timbers in place.

This is what each side of the sign looked like with the timbers secured and weed barrier in place.

Then it was time to shovel the 2,200 pounds of gravel in place!

With the gravel shoveled on top of the weed barrier, a few decorative rocks were added for looks.

And then the solar lights were reinstalled.

A celebratory photo is always good after a hard three hours of work!

So there you have it! The landscaping is finally finished and should last for many years.
Have a great day!
