Signs, Signs, Everywhere the Signs

Hello Crestview-ites! Crestview-ites doesn't sound very catchy, does it? I'll work on coming up with something brilliant for the future. I know, I know... you can't wait.

During the 2015 annual meeting, we discussed traffic flows and ways of getting the general public to realize that Crestview Drive is a dead end or no outlet road. People seem to blow right past the big diamond-shaped "No Outlet" sign near the front of the subdivision like it isn't even there.

I've noticed a more recent trend on street signs, lately, where a yellow "No Outlet" or "Dead End" is affixed to the top of the road sign itself. According to the county official I spoke with from Douglas County, that yellow plaque (they called it a plaque) affixed to the top of the road sign seems to be more effective at attracting attention than the large diamond-shaped signs on the side of the road.

To make a long story short, we are now on the list for having a yellow "No Outlet" plaque affixed to our entrance road sign on the corner of Hilltop and Crestview Drive. From what I understand, this will not be immediate, but we might see that happen in about 4 weeks from today (July 02), or it could be a bit longer.

I also discussed with them the possibility of having some signage placed at the end of Crestview Drive, where it ends at the small access road leading to the back gate and the water pumping station. A different sign at that location would help confused drivers know there is no access beyond that point. They said they will look into what would be the correct signage for that situation and see what they can do.

I'm looking forward to having these new signs in place, as I believe they will decrease the amount of cars that drive though the neighborhood looking for a short cut to who knows where.
